I have heard from the organisers that due to traffic issues, the Christleton 5k will no longer be held. Terrible blow for Cheshire road running.

Pinno (Penny Lane Striders) will be well pleased with you thinking he may be a professional . He is a mate of mine so I can call him a good amateur .Mick Hall covers lots of races including ours . UKResults has links to pics . I have looked at mine www.flickr.com/photos/mickcharman but I can't find any of you. Do you race much Dobby? or are you so fast my shutter speed can't catch you.

Funny piece Dobby, typical Charlie although very tame compared to most of his stuff, as you know. I read and watch Charlie whenever I get the opportunity and I'm a big fan. As for when I first started running, the memories are only vague, its all a bit of a green flash. I don't know what endorphins are, I don't think I have had any, maybe somebody can tell me what they are like.

I recently bought a new pair of XC spikes after not using XC spikes for a number of years. I have tended to use Fell shoes, which I think on some types of XC suit me better. I can't understand why they supply XC spikes with 5-6 mm spikes because they are useless on the country. I to use 12-15 mm spikes. The one thing I will say is don't buy XC spikes by mail order. They (like Fell shoes) need to be a perfect fit . I bought my new pair over the internet and they were too small. It becomes a bit expensive when you have to pay the postage .... both ways.. to replace them.

I did the Forest Park XC training session for the first time yesterday and I thought it was a really useful workout. Its a good blend of speed and stamina, plus good fun. I recommend this session to all members, particularly if you are doing any XC races this winter. Thanks to Julian for leading the session.
