I have a PowerBreathe. It is a well made piece of kit, but was expensive - £40 I think. It is odd to use - it strengthens the lungs when sucking air in - not blowing out!! The resistance is adjustable and it is advisable to start with it as easy as possible to stop your ears popping and your eyeballs falling in your head!!
I am asthmatic and thought it would strengthen my lungs. I used it fastidiously, twice per day for 6 months last year. I improved dramatically with my capability to use the equipment and increased the resistance from minimum to maximum over the period. It did not seem to make any difference to my running though......and eventually I got fed up of cleaning it every day!
Perhaps I will give it another go...it may work better on old men....

A group of us run from Cuddington, Northwich on Monday evening (about 18.00) or early Sunday morning (07.20 am).
We have some beautiful Cheshire trails here if anyone is interested in joining us.

Pure Magic.
Steve Cram looks majestic - but Steve Martin looks great too. 51s for the last lap. Incredible.
Thanks for posting this Mick.
