Do people think that showing race / training routes people have run would be a useful addition to this forum? For example, this route, extracted from my Garmin Activities webpage, is a must to avoid as it's the one from which I obtained my knee injury (at mile 13, unlucky for some ): connect.garmin.com:80/activity/embed/106408736Maybe we accompany the route with a "how to get there" explanation? Thoughts any one? Alan

I think that's a great idea. Especially for someone like me new to this running game and looking to build up my mileage. Here's Thursday's 'The Michael': connect.garmin.com/activity/127790840Scotty

Hi Scotty, thanks for the feedback. Its just a 'fishing expedition' at the moment, we'll have to agree a format etc of posts. I wasn't able to follow your link, I think we need to agree a method of showing the routes - here's a test at attaching it as an xml file, what do people think? Attachments:

FYI 1: I could follow Scotty's link to "The Michael" OK. FYI 2: For those who haven't explored the Striders web site in any depth, the muster routes (both winter & summer) are there under "About us", "Training with us".

How strange - I can follow the link now, but couldnt last night (not that I look on non-work related websites during working hours you understand) The KML file may be a non-starter as you need Google Earth to view it - not many smartphones have that installed.

I did consider that all the routes are on the Striders website. However, with the greatest of respect to their producers (a lot more technically minded than I), with me not knowing the area too well, I couldn't decipher what the actual route was and if it went anywhere near anywhere I knew. Hence my pubishing of it on a moveable google/bing map. Apologies if it causes confusion.

Is there potential for a 'challenge' best local route competition. ie rules agreed eg start point, distance etc then members are encouraged to go out and come up with the best route and upload it then other members would run it and rate it for example. Could be the start to an idea there?
