Nev usually asks people if they can suggest any good fell races to include in the champs for the forthcoming year. I thought this might be a good place to gather people's suggestions.
I'll start the ball rolling by recommending the Foel Fras race in North Wales. I did this in June this year and liked it a lot. It's about 12 miles/3000 feet and was very well marked and marshalled considering the terrain it crosses. Great views off the tops too - luckily it was a nice day. Also easy to get to as it's literally just off the A55 at Aber. The only downside is the lengthy road section out of the village, but the final steep descent to within 50 metres of the finish goes some way to redress the balance!

Before I start all the races that I suggest fall fowl of clashing with other events (i.e. cross country)
Races that I like that have not been in the fell calendar while I have run at spectrum
Black Combe 5th March 8miles 3400ft ( you have to love a race that climbs Black Combe twice!)
Roaches 11th November 15m 3800ft ( very tough but you have to try it once!)
Races that have been in the calendar but were not on last year
Moel Wynion 8th Sept 4.7 miles 1772 ft ( nice little race)
The Whernside race that was in the calendar in 2010 was great and Clwydian Hills that was removed from the calendar due to a clash was a real treat!

How about having a long race, such as the 3 peaks in the calender?
